Dr.NTEZIMANA Jean Nepomuscene

Commissioner of Healing and Resilience

Dr.NTEZIMANA Jean Nepomuscene, was elected as commissioner in charge of Healing and Resilience on July 31st, 2022. NTEZIMANA Jean Nepomuscene survived the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in the Western Province of Rwanda in the Rusizi District (Mutimasi-Nyarushishi).

Since 2009, he has held various positions in Genocide Survivors Organizations. From 2014 to 2015, he served as the Coordinator of AERG KIST-KHI: Association des Étudiants et Élèves Rescapés du Genocide. He also served as a parent in different families from 2009 to 2013. He is now in INKINDI Family-GAERG where he is in charge of commemorating the genocide against Tusti’s activities.
Following his Master’s degree in Internal Medicine at Lanzhou University, China, Ntezimana Jean Nepomuscene also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from the University of Rwanda-College of Medicine and Health Sciences. He also attended different pieces of training in Rwanda, China, Oxford University (United Kingdom), and Toronto University (Canada). His research interests as a researcher are cardiovascular diseases and community health-based surveys.
NTEZIMANA Jean Nepomuscene is a public servant at the University of Rwanda-College of Medicine and Health Sciences, where he works as an Assistant Lecturer. In addition to that, he is also a physician in the field of internal medicine. He worked as a resident doctor at Lanzhou University Second Hospital for four years from 2018 to 2022. In his spare time, Ntezimana Jean Nepomuscene reads books, he plays various games and interacts with friends and family members.
